TV Personalities Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford Confirm Divorce After 14 Years of Marriage
Television presenters Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford have officially announced their decision to separate after 14 years of marriage, confirming that they are in the process of getting a divorce. The renowned couple, known for their long-standing partnership on ITV‘s This Morning, chose to part ways following their departure from the show in 2021.
Holmes, aged 64, transitioned to GB News as a host for the channel’s morning program, while Langsford, also 64, continues to be a regular panel member on ITV’s popular show Loose Women. Their collaboration extended beyond This Morning, encompassing joint ventures on Channel 5 productions such as How The Other Half Lives and Do The Right Thing With Eamonn And Ruth.
The decision to end their marriage marks a significant moment in their personal lives, having first met in 1997 before exchanging vows in 2010. The wedding ceremony, attended by notable figures like Gloria Hunniford, Jeremy Kyle, Zoe Lucker, and Barry McGuigan, was a memorable event in the entertainment industry.
Together, Holmes and Langsford welcomed their son, Jack, in 2002. Additionally, Holmes has three children, Declan, Rebecca, and Niall, from his previous marriage to Gabrielle Holmes, whom he wed in 1985. Their family dynamics involve a blend of relationships from different chapters of Holmes’ life.
In recognition of his contributions to broadcasting, Holmes was honored with an OBE in the 2018 New Year Honours, a title that Langsford publicly celebrated, referring to him affectionately as her ‘darling’. Langsford’s own endeavors have seen her participate in popular television programs like Strictly Come Dancing, where she was partnered with Anton Du Beke before his appointment as a judge on the show.
