Plymouth Brethren Christian Church’s Rapid Relief Team Hosts Appreciative Luncheon for Parkes Hospital Nurses on International Nurses Day
Local volunteers from the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church’s Rapid Relief Team organized a heartfelt luncheon at Parkes Hospital on the occasion of International Nurses Day. The event took place on Thursday, May 9, as a gesture of appreciation towards the hardworking nurses at the hospital.
Approximately 100 meals were served by Rapid Relief Team Team Leader Gareth Mansley and 10 dedicated volunteers. The volunteers showcased culinary skills by serving a selection of delicious meals, including their renowned Signature Burgers.
Health Services Manager Katrina Mulligan from the Western NSW Local Health District expressed gratitude towards the Rapid Relief Team for their generous support and recognition of the tireless efforts put in by the nursing and medical teams at Parkes Hospital.
This event was part of the larger initiative by the Rapid Relief Team to host similar lunches at 22 hospitals across Australia, ultimately serving over 9,500 meals to healthcare professionals. More than 300 volunteers were actively involved in this nationwide campaign to honor and appreciate the essential role of nurses in our society.
The Rapid Relief Team, affiliated with the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church, focuses on values of care and compassion. Established in 2013, the organization boasts a global network of over 14,500 volunteers, actively supporting community events and assisting emergency services in times of crisis by providing meals and other forms of support.
