Political Crisis in Haryana as BJP Loses Majority: Independent MLAs Withdraw Support Amid Lok Sabha Elections
A political crisis has unfolded in Haryana as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government faced a setback with three independent MLAs withdrawing their support, leading to a loss of majority. The MLAs – Sombir Sangwan, Randhir Gollen, and Dharampal Gonder – have announced their decision to shift allegiance towards the Congress party amidst the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
The withdrawal of support by the three independent MLAs has left the BJP government in Haryana without the necessary majority to effectively govern the state.
Following the resignation of Manohar Lal Khattar as Chief Minister and MLA, Nayab Singh Saini was swiftly sworn in to take over the responsibilities in Haryana. This change in leadership created rifts, especially with the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) over seat-sharing for the Lok Sabha elections.
Deependra Singh Hooda, a Congress MP, expressed confidence in the changing political landscape of Haryana. He stated that the situation is against the BJP, signifying an impending transformation in the state.
Bharatiya Janata Party leader Narendra Modi clarified that the decision to replace Manohar Lal Khattar with Nayab Singh Saini was not abrupt. Modi indicated that he had suggested this change over a year ago, highlighting the strategic nature of the leadership shift.
