The highly anticipated film Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas in the lead, experienced a significant drop in box office earnings on its second day of release. The movie, which had a sensational opening by collecting Rs 191.5 crore on day one, witnessed a 43% decrease in revenue, with a total of Rs 54 crore on day two.

The Telugu version of Kalki 2898 AD saw the most substantial decline, plunging from Rs 65.8 crore on the first day to Rs 25.65 crore on the second day, despite maintaining a solid 65.02% occupancy rate. Meanwhile, the Hindi release maintained its earnings at Rs 22.5 crore for both days, as reported by the box office tracker Sacnilk.

Kalki 2898 AD was released in multiple languages including Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. The Tamil version collected Rs 4.5 crore on day one and slightly decreased to Rs 3.5 crore on day two. In the Kannada release, the earnings increased from Rs 30 lakh to Rs 35 lakh. The Malayalam version accumulated a total of Rs 4.4 crore over two days, with Rs 2.2 crore on the first day and Rs 2 crore on the second day. The film’s combined box office collection in India after the second day stood at Rs 149.3 crore.

On its opening day, Kalki 2898 AD surpassed the worldwide collection figures of KGF 2 and became the third-highest opener following RRR and Baahubali 2. With the latter movies having achieved Rs 382 crore and Rs 350 crore respectively by this point, Kalki 2898 AD is poised to challenge these records. Internationally, the film grossed $7 million in North America.

Despite the dip in earnings on the second day, expectations are still high with predictions of a Rs 500 crore weekend collection. The star-studded cast of Kalki 2898 AD includes Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, Disha Patani, and cameo appearances by SS Rajamouli, Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, and Vijay Deverakonda.
