Printing Error Leads to Missing Polling Cards for East Devon Residents
East Devon District Council has revealed that a significant number of residents in Devon have not received their polling cards due to an error committed by an external printing contractor.
Those affected by the error have been reassured that their polling cards were dispatched via first-class mail on Monday, 1 July, to ensure they have the necessary information for the upcoming election.
Reminding residents that a polling card is not mandatory to cast their vote, the Council has encouraged individuals to visit their local polling station armed with a valid ID.
For residents unsure of their polling station location, they can easily locate it using the Council’s online tool or by browsing through the list of polling stations available on the Council’s website.
Polling stations, which will be open on Thursday, 4 July, from 7am to 10pm, are typically situated in community halls, churches, schools, and sometimes more unique venues like a theatre or a bowling club.
The election will see residents of various towns including Exmouth, Budleigh Salterton, Cranbrook, Axminster, Honiton, Seaton, and others, voting for MPs to represent the newly formed constituencies that cover the entirety of the East Devon area.
