Protests In India

Today, several parts of Uttar Pradesh witnessed protests as various Dalit and tribal organizations rallied against a Supreme Court ruling regarding reservation policies. These protests have gained momentum across the nation, with young activists in अंबेडकरनगर blocking highways in their demonstrations.

Meanwhile, in Lakhimpur Khiri, crowds gathered to oppose the sub-categorization of SC-ST reservations. This unrest prompted the UP Director General of Police to review the situation from the headquarters and issue stern instructions to curb any violent activities.

In a separate incident, troubling reports emerged about a distressing event in the city of Agra, known for its rich heritage. Two silver artisans were allegedly subjected to third-degree torture while confined within a workshop, highlighting serious concerns about worker treatment.

Schools have also faced challenges due to rising water levels, with a junior high school becoming inundated. The unpleasant conditions have left students distressed, raising alarms about potential health risks.

As the day unfolded, protests spread to districts like शाहजहाँपुर, where multiple organizations united in opposition to the controversial policies. In a notable political move, Muzaffarnagar’s BSP leader सलमान सईद switched allegiance to the Congress party amid these events, believed to be a reaction to perceived setbacks in his bid for a party ticket.
