Quarterback Brock Purdy‘s availability for the San Francisco 49ers‘ upcoming game against the Green Bay Packers remains uncertain. Multiple reports indicate that Purdy was absent from the portion of the 49ers’ practice on Friday that was open to the media. This aligns with ongoing concerns regarding his right shoulder injury, which has been an issue throughout the week.

On Wednesday and Thursday, Purdy was listed as limited on the team’s injury reports, raising doubts about his readiness for Sunday’s match. In a radio interview conducted on Friday morning, 49ers General Manager John Lynch refrained from commenting definitively about Purdy’s status, leaving his participation in question. Should Purdy be unable to play, the team’s quarterback duties may fall to Brandon Allen or recently acquired Josh Dobbs.

In addition to Purdy, other key players were also absent at the start of Friday’s practice. Notably, edge rusher Nick Bosa and offensive tackle Trent Williams did not participate due to injuries. Bosa is dealing with hip and oblique issues, while Williams is managing an ankle injury. Neither player has practiced this week, compounding the 49ers’ concerns as they prepare for their critical matchup.

The 49ers are expected to release a comprehensive injury report, including game statuses for the team’s roster, later Friday afternoon. This report will provide further insights and confirmations regarding player participation for the anticipated game against the Packers.
