Rajmata Madhavi Raje Scindia, Mother of Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Passes Away
Rajmata Madhavi Raje Scindia, the mother of Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, has passed away. She breathed her last at 09:28 am after undergoing treatment at AIIMS Hospital in Delhi for the past two months.
The news of her demise was confirmed by Jyotiraditya Scindia’s office, stating that she had been on a ventilator for the last few days. She was battling pneumonia and sepsis.
Madhavi Raje Scindia’s last rites are scheduled to be held in Gwalior, the historic city associated with the Scindia family.
Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Samrat Choudhary expressed their condolences on her passing, offering prayers for her soul and strength for the bereaved family.
Madhavi Raje Scindia was married to Maharaja Madhavrao Scindia II, a prominent figure in the Congress party and a former Union Civil Aviation Minister.
Her lineage traced back to Gorkha, Kaski, Lamjung in Nepal, with connections to the Mainpuri region of Uttar Pradesh, Madhesh Province, and the Army General of her ancestral province.
She was the daughter of Juddha Shamsher Jang Bahadur Rana and a descendant of Sardar Ramakrishna Kunwar, maintaining a legacy of service and philanthropy within the Scindia family.
Madhavi Raje Scindia was actively involved in various social initiatives, including chairing 24 charity trusts focused on education and medical care, as well as overseeing the Scindias Kanya Vidyalaya for girls.
