Real Madrid Captain Nacho Fernandez Bids Farewell After 12 Years with the Club
Real Madrid‘s long-serving captain, Nacho Fernandez, has announced his departure from the club, marking the end of a remarkable 12-year career with the Spanish giants.
Having joined Real Madrid at the age of 10 from a local team, Alcala de Henares, Nacho went on to become a stalwart in the squad, making 364 appearances and winning an impressive 26 trophies during his tenure.
Throughout his time with Los Merengues, the 34-year-old defender lifted six Champions League titles and celebrated four LaLiga triumphs, cementing his legacy as one of the club’s most decorated players.
As Real Madrid bids farewell to Nacho, who wore the captain’s armband in his final two seasons, the club expressed deep gratitude and appreciation for his contributions, hailing him as one of the great legends in its history.
Not only did Nacho excel at the club level, but he also achieved success on the international stage, winning the European U-21 Championship and the Nations League with the Spanish national team. Currently, he is representing Spain at Euro 2024 in Germany.
Following his exit from Real Madrid, Nacho is set to continue his football journey with Saudi Pro League newcomers Al-Qadsiah, where he will embark on a new chapter in his career.
