Reality star Mercy Eke has expressed distress over the news of the Central Bank of Nigeria revoking the operating license of Heritage Bank, where she held an account with over N100 million.

Eke revealed that she initially opened the account with Heritage Bank because the bank was a major sponsor of the fourth edition of the popular reality show, Big Brother Naija, which she emerged as the winner.

Blaming her account manager for advising her to fix her funds with the bank despite the ongoing issues, Eke shared her frustrations online.

Responding to concerns from fans, Eke disclosed that she has initiated steps with the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Commission to recover her substantial funds locked in the now troubled bank.

The Nigerian Deposit Insurance Commission has begun the liquidation process of Heritage Bank, ensuring that depositors are verified and payments are made, starting with those having balances of N5 million and below.
