Community members and renowned artists are coming together to mourn the untimely passing of Tirrell Thomas. The news of Tirrell’s demise has cast a shadow of sorrow over the community that cherished his talent.

Robert Wilson, known by his stage name Fresh IE, reflected on the profound impact Tirrell had on his life. Wilson shared that he mentored Tirrell for several years, nurturing his musical and spiritual journey.

Wilson described how Tirrell’s performances were always filled with passion and a deep desire to use his music to make his family proud. The loss of Tirrell has left Wilson in disbelief, unable to comprehend the tragic news.

Larry Abrams of The Color reminisced about his initial encounter with Tirrell back in 2008. They bonded over music and sports, with Tirrell’s infectious energy and enthusiasm leaving a lasting impression on Abrams.

Tirrell’s contribution to the music scene in Altona, particularly through the rap crew AMU, is fondly remembered by Abrams. His dedication to creating music and fostering a creative community resonated deeply with those who knew him.

Despite his untimely passing, Tirrell was dedicated to his craft and had almost completed a new album. Wilson revealed that he is currently in the studio, working on finishing the album as a tribute to Tirrell’s musical legacy.

Plans are underway for a benefit concert at the Park Theatre on July 16 to help cover Tirrell’s funeral expenses. Additionally, a fundraiser organized by Darlene Enns-Dyck aims to support the family in covering funeral and travel costs during this challenging time.
