Rise Mzansi leader Songezo Zibi has outlined a comprehensive plan for transformative change in South Africa, representing a hopeful promise for the country’s future.

One of the party’s primary goals is to address the long-standing issue of dysfunctional municipalities across major economic nodes in South Africa. The initiative aims to put such municipalities under administration until they achieve basic auditor-general standards and become sustainable entities.

In the fight against corruption, Zibi pledges a zero-tolerance policy and a commitment to systematically addressing all criminal dockets to clean up the country’s governance.

State-owned enterprises (SOEs) are another target for reform under the Rise Mzansi agenda. The party plans to review all SOEs, keeping only those with a clear strategic purpose and shutting down unnecessary entities to streamline the public sector.

Professionalizing the civil service is a key focus, with Zibi vowing to end the practice of cadre deployment and ensure that public servants are appointed based on merit, expertise, and ethical conduct.

Crime reduction is a top priority for Rise Mzansi, with a ‘Freedom from Fear’ plan aimed at halving crime rates within five years of implementation.

On the controversial National Health Insurance (NHI) Bill, Zibi supports universal health coverage but criticizes the bill’s funding model, fund structure, and implementation plan, proposing an alternative approach towards achieving high-quality healthcare for all citizens.

The party’s economic reform plan is ambitious, targeting the creation of three million sustainable jobs by 2029 through industrial growth and infrastructure revitalization.

A Rise Mzansi government would also focus on improving the business environment by simplifying regulations, streamlining licensing processes, and ensuring strict monitoring and enforcement of compliance.
