Riyadh Secures Hosting Rights for African Super Cup Clash Between Al Ahly and Zamalek

Riyadh has been chosen as the host city for the highly anticipated TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup Final 2024, pitting African football giants Al Ahly against Zamalek. The decision was announced jointly by CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe and Turki bin Abdulmohsen Alalshikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority.

The final, scheduled for September 27, will see the reigning champions of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League, Al Ahly SC, take on the current holders of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup, Zamalek SC. The venue and exact kickoff time for the match will be disclosed by CAF at a later date.

Dr. Motsepe expressed enthusiasm for the partnership between CAF and Saudi Arabia, highlighting the strong relationship and shared commitment between the two entities. He emphasized CAF’s eagerness to collaborate with the General Entertainment Authority to deliver a memorable event featuring two iconic African clubs, Al Ahly and Zamalek.

HE Turki Alalshikh, in turn, conveyed his delight at Riyadh being selected as the host city for the TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup Final, a prestigious event that holds significant importance within the African football landscape. The matchup between Al-Ahly and Zamalek, representing Egypt, is anticipated to be fiercely competitive and captivating for fans.
