Roberto Luongo Celebrates Panthers’ Stanley Cup Victory with Italian Pasta Feast
Former NHL goaltender Roberto Luongo, known for his Italian roots, recently celebrated the Florida Panthers‘ Stanley Cup triumph with a unique pasta feast at a local restaurant in Florida.
A video posted on social media captured Luongo enjoying a plate of pasta served in the revered Stanley Cup, where cheese was generously sprinkled for added charm, creating a jubilant atmosphere with fellow patrons chanting ‘Let’s go Panthers’ in unison.
Luongo, who serves as a special advisor to Panthers’ GM Bill Zito, had previously showcased his on-ice talent for the team in two separate stints from 2000-2006 and 2014-2019. Winning his first-ever Stanley Cup on Monday, Luongo is relishing the victory.
The Montreal native shared a snapshot of his ‘new friend’ – the Stanley Cup, whom he brought along to the office on Wednesday, emphasizing the camaraderie.
The events surrounding the Stanley Cup’s celebratory adventures continue to entertain, with the Panthers claiming the prestigious trophy from the Edmonton Oilers with a 2-1 victory. Since acquiring the Cup, it has encountered the sea, served beer to fans, explored Sunrise, and most recently, received a touch of Luongo’s Italian pasta style.
This peculiar chapter featuring Italian Parmesan cheese directly relates to Luongo’s culinary preferences, translating his passion for slightly spicy pasta dishes into a communal sharing experience within the Cup.
Following the indulgent meal, one can only imagine Luongo diligently cleaning up the remnants from the feast enjoyed out of the iconic Cup, underscoring the bond between the champion and his cherished trophy.
Notably, while Luongo never hoisted the silverware as a player, he notably advanced to the Stanley Cup Final in 2011 with the Vancouver Canucks.
