Royal Enfield Launches New Guerrilla 450 Motorcycle in India
Royal Enfield, the renowned performance motorcycle manufacturer in India, has finally launched its new motorcycle, the Guerrilla 450, for sale after a long wait. This new motorcycle, with its attractive appearance and powerful engine, was unveiled by the company during a mega event in Barcelona, Spain.
The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 has been launched in the Indian market at an introductory price of Rs 2.39 lakh (ex-showroom). This bike will be available for sale in India starting from August 1, 2024. The official booking for the Guerrilla 450 has already commenced and can be done through the company’s website and authorized dealerships.
In the 450cc segment, the Guerrilla 450 is Royal Enfield’s second motorcycle. It made its global debut in Barcelona, Spain. The bike is presented in five colors, including Brava Blue, Yellow Ribbon, Gold Dip, Playa Black, and Smoke Flash, with variations such as Brava Blue and Yellow Ribbon in the Flash variant, Gold Dip and Playa Black in the Dash variant, and Smoke and Playa Black in the Analog variant.
The premium modern roadster motorcycle, based on Sherpa 450 platform, is powered by a 452cc capacity single-cylinder liquid-cooled Sherpa engine by Royal Enfield. This engine produces 40PS of power and 40Nm of torque. It features a water-cooled system with an integrated water pump, twin-pass radiator, and internal bypass. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with an assist and slip clutch.
The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is equipped with features like a stepped bench seat, 11-liter fuel tank, LED headlights with integrated tail lamp, upswept silencer, and a steel twin-spar tubular frame. It comes with a 43mm telescopic fork at the front and a linkage-type mono-shock suspension at the rear. The motorcycle is based on 17-inch front and rear tubeless tires with a wheelbase of 1440mm for stability.
The Guerrilla 450 offers different riding modes and is enhanced by the Engine Management System (EMS) and Ride-By-Wire technology for improved performance. The Performance mode and Eco mode throttle response provide better performance in various riding conditions. The company claims that this bike is the best performer in its segment.
The infotainment system of the Guerrilla 450 features a 4-inch infotainment cluster in the Tripster Dash. It provides route recording in GPX format, music control, weather forecast, and other information. Royal Enfield Wingman MIY feature adds connectivity for an enhanced riding experience.
In the Indian market, the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 competes primarily with models like Triumph Speed 450, Harley-Davidson X400, and Hero MotoCorp‘s Mavrick 440 in the 450cc engine segment. These bikes have similar 450cc engines and are priced approximately similarly.
Powering the bike and hardware specifications, the Guerrilla 450 has a steel tubular frame that employs the engine as a stressed member. The frame is intervened by a 43mm telescopic fork with 140mm travel and a preload-adjustable mono-shock with 150mm wheel travel. The bike boasts 17-inch wheels with a 120-section tire upfront and a substantial 160-section tire at the rear, utilizing Ceat Gripp XL tires. Braking duties are managed by a 310mm front disc and a 270mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS as standard.
