Rui Hachimura Remains Questionable for Lakers’ Upcoming Games
The Los Angeles Lakers continue to grapple with injuries as they prepare for their upcoming games. Forward Rui Hachimura, who has been sidelined due to a sprained ankle, did not participate in the team’s practice on Monday and remains questionable for the game against the Utah Jazz. This was confirmed by former player and sports analyst JJ Redick.
Redick announced pregame that Hachimura would miss his third consecutive game on Tuesday. Hachimura’s absence is yet another challenge for the team, which has recently achieved consecutive road victories despite a depleted lineup. These wins against the San Antonio Spurs and the New Orleans Pelicans demonstrated the Lakers’ resilience amidst ongoing injury issues.
Dalton Knecht has been filling in for Hachimura in the starting lineup, while Cam Reddish, who missed the game against the Pelicans, is set to return to the starting lineup. Hachimura’s potential return is still uncertain, and the team’s medical staff is hopeful he will be back on the court sometime this week.
Currently, Utah Jazz is experiencing a tough season with a 3-10 record. However, they secured a surprising victory over the Dallas Mavericks recently, highlighting the unpredictable nature of the Western Conference this season. Despite Utah’s current standing, the Lakers must remain cautious as their roster continues to be plagued by injuries.
Beyond Hachimura, the Lakers have also been without forward Jarred Vanderbilt and big man Christian Wood due to offseason surgeries. Backup center Jaxson Hayes has also missed several games, further complicating the team’s situation.
Hachimura has been a key player for the Lakers, and his shooting performance this season has been remarkable. He is currently averaging a career-high of 50% on three-point shooting with a commendable 82.6% from the free-throw line. The Lakers hope to see him back in action as the team faces the Orlando Magic on Thursday and the Denver Nuggets on Saturday.
