Sabrina Carpenter Releases New Album ‘Short n’ Sweet’
Sabrina Carpenter has officially released her sixth studio album titled ‘Short n’ Sweet‘. This album concludes a summer filled with popular singles such as ‘Taste‘ and ‘Please Please Please’.
The album features a total of 12 tracks and showcases Carpenter’s confidence and authenticity. She has expressed that this record represents her growth as an artist, considering it her ‘second big girl album’. Carpenter highlights her full creative control over the project and how it reflects her maturity.
The opening track, ‘Taste’, was co-written by Carpenter along with Julia Michaels, Amy Allen, John Ryan, and Ian Kirkpatrick. This single displays Carpenter’s often sardonic and sensual viewpoint, cleverly addressing the dynamics of relationships.
In ‘Taste’, Carpenter sings about leaving a lasting impression on an ex, emphasizing her influence even after a breakup. The lyrics cleverly reference her brief yet impactful relationships, demonstrating the emotional aftermath even after the end.
The music video for ‘Taste’, directed by Dave Meyers, garnered attention for its playful, cartoonish theme. It features Carpenter and co-star Jenna Ortega, engaging in humorous yet violent confrontations over a boyfriend, played by Rohan Campbell.
Moreover, Carpenter has hinted that the album title reflects her experiences with relationships that were significant despite their brief duration. She described her latest work in comparison to her previous album ‘Emails‘, referring to it as ‘the hot older sister’.
Carpenter is set to embark on the ‘Sweet n’ Sour‘ tour starting in Columbus, Ohio on September 23. This tour comes on the heels of her recent album release and has already sold out numerous arena shows, including significant venues in New York and Los Angeles.
