Sabrina Carpenter’s UK Tour Tickets Go on Sale Amid Price Controversy
Pop star Sabrina Carpenter is gearing up for her much-anticipated UK tour in 2025, and tickets officially go on sale today, July 26. Her tour comes in the wake of her recent viral success with two singles and the unveiling of her new album.
Carpenter announced the UK leg of her ‘Short n’ Sweet’ tour last Thursday, July 19, and due to overwhelming demand, additional dates have already been added. With support from Rachel Chinouriri, she will perform in various cities, including Dublin, Birmingham, Glasgow, London, and Manchester, hitting a total of eight venues across the UK and Ireland.
The announcement may have seemed sudden, especially since Carpenter just performed at the Radio 1 Big Weekend in May. However, fans were tipped off by creative clues she left, like red lipstick kisses projected on the walls of major venues such as the OVO Hydro, O2 Arena, and Co-op Live.
Anticipation is high as tickets go live at 10 am today. Fans are strongly encouraged to log in to Ticketmaster in advance to secure their chance, as thousands are expected to vie for tickets, triggering a huge digital queue upon release.
However, the ticket prices have sparked a significant backlash on social media. Reports indicate that many pre-sale tickets were priced well over £200, leading to discontent among fans. Many who were hoping to purchase general sale tickets are finding that prices have skyrocketed since her last tour in 2023.
One fan vented their frustration, noting the stark contrast in pricing, stating, “I paid £24.50 for a standing ticket last year, but now it’s £94.20 for the same.” Others echoed similar sentiments, labeling the pricing as «greedy» and «appalling.»
The outrage isn’t just about the face value of the tickets; fans are also concerned about the experience of buying tickets, likening it to an «online war» where they feel pressured to pay exorbitant sums just to secure a spot at the concert.
As the ticket sale goes live, many fans are left wondering how to enjoy their favorite artist without breaking the bank.
