Sauk County Authorities Cite Nine Juveniles for Disorderly Conduct in Reedsburg Incident
REEDSBURG, Wis. — Nine juveniles from the Reedsburg area have been issued citations for disorderly conduct by Sauk County authorities. This action follows allegations of harassment directed towards members of the local Amish community.
On August 11th, the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple reports regarding the unsettling behavior exhibited by a group of young individuals towards Amish residents in rural Reedsburg. Authorities later identified the vehicle associated with the incident, resulting in disorderly conduct citations for the nine suspects.
As a consequence of this incident, the Reedsburg Area School District has canceled its first two varsity football games of the season. Principal Katie Mathews expressed that the school is committed to maintaining the integrity of its educational values, stating that this situation serves as a painful learning experience.
On August 26, Sauk County Sheriff Chip Meister confirmed that some members of the Reedsburg football team were involved in the incident. However, he did not disclose the exact number of juvenile suspects linked to the football team.
