On a thrilling Wednesday night in Los Angeles, Kyle Schwarber put on a show, hitting three home runs and driving in seven RBIs. His impressive performance led the Philadelphia Phillies to a 9-4 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

This victory was a significant moment for the Phillies, as they managed to win a series against the Dodgers, who were sitting at the top of the National League standings at the time. Phillies’ manager Rob Thomson expressed his relief, saying, ‘It’s good to finally win a series.’ With this game, Philadelphia is showing they are in great form as they faced one of the top teams in the league.

The game turned during a dramatic sixth inning where the Phillies, trailing 4-3, scored five runs. Alec Bohm kicked things off with a double to left field, and when Brandon Marsh grounded into a fielder’s choice, chaos ensued. There was an obstruction call against Dodgers’ Miguel Rojas, leading to Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts getting ejected after arguing the decision.

By the end of the sixth, the Phillies were in the lead. Once J.T. Realmuto managed to tie the game with a groundout, a wild pitch from Joe Kelly allowed Marsh to score, putting the Phillies ahead 5-4. Schwarber then smashed a 426-foot homer to secure a comfortable lead for his team.

This win was especially sweet for the Phillies right after they’d fallen behind 4-1 early in the game. The Dodgers had jumped to this lead thanks to a couple of first-pitch hits from Freddie Freeman, who drove in three of the Dodgers’ four runs.

Despite a rocky start, Phillies’ pitcher Gavin Stone settled in after the third inning, not allowing any further runs for most of the game. However, after Schwarber’s big night, the Phillies ended with a solid win, and the Dodgers saw their lead in the NL West shrink to just three games against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Injuries also played a part on this busy night, with Phillies’ left fielder Austin Hays leaving the game early due to tightness in his hamstring. For the Dodgers, the news was a bit more concerning, as pitcher Brusdar Graterol was placed on the injured list with a Grade 1 hamstring strain.

As both teams look forward, the Phillies will send Kolby Allard to the mound for their next game against Arizona, while the Dodgers will start Jack Flaherty against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
