Scottie Scheffler Wins Gold in Men’s Olympic Golf Tournament
The men’s Olympic golf tournament has wrapped up, and it looks like the Paris edition was the most exciting one yet. Huge crowds gathered at Le Golf National where some of the best golfers in the world took to the course over four intense rounds.
In the end, it was world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler from the USA who claimed the gold medal, finishing with an impressive score of 19 under par after a stunning final round of 62.
Unlike regular tournaments, there’s no prize money on the line in Olympic golf—just the glory of winning one of the three coveted medals. And now, the wait begins for the next Olympics, which will happen at Riviera in Los Angeles in 2028.
Here are how the top finishers ended up: Scottie Scheffler took the gold, Tommy Fleetwood from England bagged the silver medal, and Hideki Matsuyama from Japan secured bronze.
Victor Perez from France came in fourth, just one shot behind the medalists. Tied for fifth place were Rory McIlroy from Ireland and Jon Rahm from Spain, both finishing at 15 under par.
Other notable results included Nicolai Hojgaard from Denmark at 14 under, and Tom Kim from the Republic of Korea at 13 under. A group of players, including Corey Conners from Canada and Jason Day from Australia, tied with a score of 12 under par.
With such thrilling performances and a great atmosphere, this year’s Olympic golf tournament has certainly raised the bar for future events.
