Security Guard Injured in Shooting at Drake’s Toronto Mansion
A security guard working at the Toronto mansion of rapper Drake was critically injured in a shooting early Tuesday morning in the Bridle Path neighborhood. The shooting took place around 2 a.m. outside the gates of Drake’s residence on Park Lane Circle, near Bayview and Lawrence avenues.
The victim, identified as an adult male, sustained life-threatening injuries and was immediately transported to the hospital. Police confirmed that he was a security guard stationed in front of the residence when the shooting occurred.
Despite the investigation being in its early stages, police have made contact with Drake’s team, who are reportedly cooperating with the authorities. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear at this time.
Toronto Police stated that individuals in a vehicle were seen fleeing the scene, but detailed descriptions were withheld due to video quality issues currently under review by investigators.
The shooting incident coincides with an ongoing feud between Drake and fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar. However, law enforcement officials refrained from speculating on any potential links between the altercation and the shooting.
