The highly anticipated sequel to the popular 1996 Indian action film ‘Indian Hero’ is set to hit the screens as ‘Indian Hero -2’. Directed by Shankar and starring Kamal Haasan, Siddharth, Rakul Preet, Priyabavani Shankar, Bobby Simha, Nedu Venu, Vivek, Gulshan Grover, Samudrakhani, and Manobala, the movie is creating a buzz among fans and audiences.

The story revolves around Aravind, played by Siddharth, who runs a successful YouTube channel called ‘Barking Dogs’ and gains popularity for exposing corrupt practices. When he witnesses a mother’s suicide due to financial struggles, he decides to return as ‘Come Back Indian’ to fight against injustice.

The narrative takes viewers to Taiwan, where the original Indian hero, now a retired military officer, is residing. As Aravind makes headlines with his bold actions, he sends a message back to India urging the retired hero to return and deliver a powerful message.

While the film carries forward the legacy of the original, it lacks the organic flow of the first installment, often resorting to contrived plot points rather than substantial character development. The serious undertones become overshadowed by comedic elements, diluting the impact of the storyline.

Kamal Haasan’s entry as the retired hero initially sparks interest, but his character lacks depth and fails to sustain engagement. The Telugu dubbing also falls short in capturing the emotional nuances conveyed through poetic dialogue delivery. Moreover, the action sequences appear overly dramatized, bordering on trolling, and the background music fails to meet the standard set by the original.

Shankar, known for his grand cinematic ventures, seems to miss the mark with ‘Indian Hero -2’. The disjointed screenplay and lack of coherence in the narrative leave the film in a state of mediocrity, unable to capture the essence of the original.

Rakul Preet Singh’s character, although dynamic and engaging, falls short of leaving a lasting impact within the storyline, blending in as another supporting role. Siddharth’s portrayal of the lead character showcases relentless determination in the face of society’s injustices, but the exaggerated emotional outbursts detract from his performance.

In conclusion, ‘Indian Hero -2’ struggles to live up to the legacy of its predecessor, with Shankar deviating from the core theme of combating corruption and societal inequalities. The sequel lacks the emotional resonance that made the original a cult classic, leaving fans disappointed and longing for the authenticity of the 90s era.
