Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued for South Lincoln
A severe thunderstorm warning was put in place for a section of southern Lancaster County, including the city of Lincoln, until 6:45 p.m. Wednesday. The warning came as a severe thunderstorm was spotted along a path from near Roca to a location 2 miles northeast of Dorchester, moving in a southeast direction at a rate of 15 mph, based on information from the National Weather Service.
The storm carries potential threats of quarter-size hail and wind gusts reaching up to 60 mph, the Weather Service reported. While this warning specifically targeted southern Lincoln, a more extensive section of Southeast Nebraska, which encompasses Lancaster County, remains under a severe thunderstorm watch until 10 p.m.
