Earlier this morning, Feld Motor Sports announced the broadcast and streaming schedule for the 2025 SuperMotocross (SMX) World Championship. This schedule includes 28 regular-season races alongside the postseason playoffs, which will be aired across NBC, Peacock, USA Network, and NBC Sports digital platforms. The announcement was made as part of the Cyber Week ticket sales event for the championship, running until December 8, 2024.
According to the release, Peacock will be the primary platform for the SMX World Championship Series in 2025, providing live coverage of all races, along with qualifying sessions and heats from both the Supercross and Pro Motocross events. Of the 28 regular-season races, 16 will be live-streamed exclusively on Peacock, ensuring that fans have comprehensive access to the sport throughout the season.
The 2025 season marks the third year of the SMX World Championship, which unifies elements of indoor Supercross and outdoor Pro Motocross racing. The championship will conclude with the much-anticipated SMX Playoffs, featuring two playoff rounds and a final. Playoff 1 will broadcast on Saturday, September 6; Playoff 2 on September 13, and the championship finale will unfold on September 20.
NBC Sports will kick off the season with the SMX Insider Pre-race Show on January 11, streaming from Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California. Following this introduction, races will air on USA Network and Peacock, with encore presentations the next day on NBC. The outdoor Pro Motocross season commences with the Fox Raceway National in Pala, California, on May 24.
The broadcasting team for 2025 will include seasoned commentators Leigh Diffey and Jason Weigandt, with Ricky Carmichael and James Stewart providing analysis. On-track reports will be delivered by Will Christien and Jason Thomas, while former racers Justin Brayton and Adam Cianciarulo will host the Race Day Live pre-race program.
Data from NBC Sports indicates a growing audience for the sport, with the 2024 season achieving a 26% increase in viewership compared to 2023. Peacock reported record streaming figures, with viewers consuming over 1.9 billion minutes of content. As SMX continues to grow in popularity, the 2025 broadcast promises to bring the excitement of the championship to an even larger audience.
Further details on the locations for the postseason playoffs will be released in January, providing fans with the complete roadmap to the season’s conclusion.
