South Africa Women won the toss and elected to bat first against India Women in the second T20I clash at the iconic M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The visitors aimed to set a competitive total on the board to secure a series win against the hosts.

Opening the innings for South Africa, Tazmin Brits showcased her batting prowess, crafting a well-deserved fifty off 39 deliveries. Her partnership with Anneke Bosch, who contributed a valuable 40 runs off 32 balls, laid a solid foundation for the Proteas.

The early exchanges saw Laura Wolvaardt and Brits forming a strong opening partnership, accumulating runs steadily before Pooja Vastrakar claimed the crucial wicket of Wolvaardt in the fifth over. The Indian bowlers, including Deepti Sharma, managed to maintain a disciplined line to restrict the South African batters.

Despite facing some mid-innings jitters, South Africa managed to post a challenging total of 177 for six in their allotted 20 overs. It was the second-highest T20I score registered by South Africa against India, showcasing their batting depth and resilience.

The match witnessed a brief delay due to rain, adding to the drama and tension on the field. With the abandonment of the game, South Africa retained their 1-0 lead in the series, setting up a crucial decider in the final T20I between India and South Africa Women.
