The Bulldogs are under the leadership of first-year coach Chennis Berry. They have already secured the 2024 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championship and hold a perfect 4-0 record in the league. A win against Norfolk State will not only maintain their unbeaten record in the MEAC but also secure their ninth win of the season, the highest since 2013. Meanwhile, the Norfolk State Spartans are looking to challenge South Carolina State’s perfect MEAC record. The Spartans recently triumphed over Delaware State with a convincing 38-19 victory. Kevon King, a standout player for the Spartans, will be a key figure in their offensive strategy.

South Carolina State’s quarterback, Eric Phoenix, is expected to play a pivotal role. Phoenix has thrown for 2,397 yards with a 66.0% completion rate, accompanied by 19 touchdowns and six interceptions. His performance will be crucial in leading the team to victory. With a successful outcome, SC State is poised for a significant appearance in the upcoming Celebration Bowl, scheduled for December 14.
