SpaceX Prepares for 400th Falcon 9 Launch with Starlink Mission
SpaceX is preparing for its 400th Falcon 9 rocket launch, scheduled for Saturday, with the Starlink 9-13 mission set to take off from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. This mission will also mark SpaceX’s milestone 100th launch from the West Coast.
The liftoff is planned from Space Launch Complex 4 East (SLC-4E) during a four-hour launch window. The window opens at 7:26 p.m. PST (10:26 p.m. EST; 0326 UTC). While SpaceX has not disclosed a precise target launch time, CelesTrak, which tracks satellite orbits, reports that SpaceX informed them of a possible first launch opportunity at 9:25:30 p.m. PST (12:25:30 a.m. EST; 0525:30 UTC).
This launch is noteworthy as SpaceX appears to forgo its usual live streaming of the event. As of now, the company has not made any announcements regarding this mission on its X profile, formerly known as Twitter, nor has it updated its website with the scheduled T-0 liftoff time.
The mission involves the deployment of 20 V2 Mini Starlink satellites, with 13 equipped with Direct to Cell capabilities. The Falcon 9 first stage booster involved in this mission, designated as B1075, is on its 15th launch. Previously, the booster was used for the Transporter-11, SDA-0A, SARah-2 missions, and 11 Starlink satellite launches.
A critical part of the mission will occur approximately eight minutes post-launch, with the recovery of the booster on the SpaceX droneship ‘Of Course I Still Love You‘ (OCISLY). Should this operation succeed, it will mark the 110th successful booster landing on OCISLY and the 373rd overall.
