Spain‘s talented midfielder Rodri has been honored as the standout player of Euro 2024, with his Spanish compatriot Yamal scooping the best young player award at the prestigious tournament.

Rodri, aged 28, played a prominent role in Spain’s Euro 2024 campaign, starting in six out of the seven matches they contested. His impactful performances included a goal in the round-of-16 triumph over Germany.

During the final, Rodri had to be substituted at halftime due to a hamstring issue, making way for Dani Olmo of Barcelona.

Yamal, who celebrated his 17th birthday during the tournament, clinched the best young player accolade after showcasing exceptional talent, providing the highest number of assists in the competition.

Spain emerged victorious in the Euro 2024 final, defeating Germany 2-1 with goals from Nico Williams and Dani Olmo. The triumph marked a stellar journey that saw Luis de la Fuente‘s side overcome tough adversaries like France on their path to the final showdown in Berlin.

Rodri’s individual award adds to his successful season at club level, where he played a crucial role in Manchester City clinching the Premier League title. The only blemish in his season was the Champions League final loss to Paris Saint-Germain.
