Speaking to ANI, the SpiceJet employee detailed the encounter, claiming that the ASI officer made inappropriate remarks and advances towards her, leading to her refusal to comply and the eventual confrontation.
SpiceJet released a statement expressing support for its employee and condemning the behavior of the ASI officer. The airline has initiated legal proceedings in response to the incident.
The female staff member, with five years of service at SpiceJet, emphasized her familiarity with airport protocols and her adherence to security procedures in her daily work.
The complaint filed by the ASI officer alleged misconduct on the part of the SpiceJet employee, citing a disagreement over security screening procedures and the subsequent physical altercation.
Advocate Deepak Chouhan, representing the employee, reiterated the claim of sexual harassment as the primary trigger for the employee’s actions, emphasizing that the incident was out of character for her.
