Sri Lanka pulled off a stunning win against India in the second ODI, beating them by 32 runs. The real star of the match was Jeffrey Vandersay, whose incredible bowling performance dismantled the Indian batting lineup, leading to an unexpected collapse.

The match took place in Colombo, where Sri Lanka posted a target of 241 runs. India got off to a solid start, reaching 97 runs for just one wicket, with Rohit Sharma scoring a brisk 64 and Shubman Gill adding a steady 35.

However, the game took a turn when Vandersay struck, dismissing Sharma with a clever reverse sweep catch. That was just the beginning of India’s problems. They went from 97 for one to a shocking 147 for six, losing six wickets for only 50 runs!

Vandersay, who stepped in for the injured Wanindu Hasaranga, took six wickets for just 33 runs, proving too much for the Indian batsmen to handle. Big names like Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer also fell victim to his spin magic.

On the other hand, India’s bowlers put up a good fight, particularly Washington Sundar, who took three wickets for 30 runs. Kuldeep Yadav also chipped in with two wickets. Despite their efforts, Sri Lanka managed to post a challenging score of 240 for nine, thanks to a crucial partnership between Dunith Wellalage and Kamindu Mendis.

In the end, Axar Patel fought valiantly with a score of 44 runs but couldn’t save India from the defeat. The second ODI certainly highlighted some weaknesses in the Indian middle order while showcasing Vandersay’s brilliance.
