Stabbing Incident in Leicester Square
In a shocking incident in London’s bustling Leicester Square, an 11-year-old girl and a 34-year-old woman were stabbed on a busy afternoon. The Metropolitan Police reported that a man has been arrested and is currently in custody.
The police confirmed that they don’t believe there are any other suspects involved in the stabbing. Thankfully, the girl’s injuries are not life-threatening, and while the woman’s injuries are described as more minor, both were taken to the hospital for treatment.
A courageous shop worker named Abdullah, who works at the TWG Tea shop, became a hero when he jumped in to help. He heard a scream and quickly rushed outside, where he saw a man stabbing the young girl.
Without thinking twice, Abdullah tackled the attacker, grabbed his hand, and managed to kick the knife away. He wasn’t alone in his effort; other bystanders quickly joined to hold the man down until the police arrived.
As the chaos unfolded, nearby shops like the Lego store and the M&M store continued to see families and tourists queueing up, seemingly unaware of the emergency just a few feet away. Authorities established a police cordon around the area with multiple officers deployed to maintain safety.
Abdullah expressed his horror at the incident, stating, ‘To do this to a kid, it’s horrible.’ He emphasized his instinct to protect the girl, saying it felt like his duty to step in and save her.
