Star-Studded Lineup for 2024 CMA Awards Announced
The 2024 Country Music Association (CMA) Awards are set to take center stage at Nashville‘s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, November 20. Four out of the five nominees for «Entertainer of the Year,» excluding Eric Church, will perform live at the event, which is being broadcast on ABC.
The show will be hosted by Luke Bryan, Lainey Wilson, and an undisclosed third host, who will steer the audience through a night filled with country music’s brightest stars. Bryan himself, a frequent figure at these events, will perform his hit «Love You, Miss You, Mean It,» which reached No. 2 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart last month.
Luke Combs, one of the nominees, will perform «Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma,» which has been well-received, topping Billboard’s charts recently. Meanwhile, Jelly Roll will collaborate with Brooks & Dunn for a live rendition of their timeless song «Believe,» a hit from 2006 that won both «Single of the Year» and «Song of the Year» at the CMAs that year.
Chris Stapleton, another entertainer of the year nominee, will present his musical prowess with two performances. He will perform «What Am I Gonna Do» from his latest album, Higher, and will join Post Malone for their joint track «California Sober.» Post Malone is also expected to deliver a solo performance of his song «Yours.»
Lainey Wilson, alongside her hosting duties, will entertain the audience with her chart-climbing single «4x4xU.» First-time performer Shaboozey will take the stage for a medley of his breakthrough track «A Bar Song (Tipsy)» and his new single «Highway,» which have resonated with audiences, marking a substantial presence on the Billboard Hot 100.
Aland of performances will include collaborations from various artists such as Dierks Bentley with Molly Tuttle, Sierra Hull, and Bronwyn Keith-Hynes, delivering Tom Petty’s «American Girl,» showcasing a mix of country roots and rock influences.
This year’s event also promises tributes, including a star-studded homage to George Strait, who is set to receive the prestigious CMA Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award.
A wide array of presenters, extending beyond the music industry, are set to appear. The Oak Ridge Boys will make an appearance just months after the passing of long-time member Joe Bonsall. Additionally, actors Jeff Bridges, Billy Bob Thornton, and Don Johnson will lend their star power to the evening, alongside Olympian Simone Biles and Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman.
With nominations led by established acts such as Combs and Bryan, fans and spectators alike can expect a thrilling event filled with remarkable performances and memorable moments, reflecting country music’s expansive cultural influence.
