Fans of horror-comedy were excited this Independence Day as «Stree 2» hit theatres across India. This sequel follows the quirky adventures of Vicky, played by Rajkummar Rao, who is still coping with the spooky female spirit known as Stree.

In the new installment, Vicky now finds himself a lovesick drunk, yearning for a mysterious girl who left town at the end of the first film. His friends, including Bittu played by Aparshakti Khurana, are equally caught up in their own romantic daydreams.

The film dives into the chaos of a new supernatural threat in their hometown of Chanderi: a giant demon named Sarkata, who has a bone to pick with Stree. The visuals are promising, with Sarkata’s removable head delivering some hilarious moments.

While the movie is filled with laugh-out-loud moments and clever wordplay, it seems to lack the impactful social commentary that characterized the first film. Vicky and his pals try to navigate both the comedic and terrifying elements of their new adventure.

Rajkummar Rao shines once again as the endearing tailor, bringing charm and humor to the screen. Shraddha Kapoor‘s character is more involved this time, intertwining magic with their antics.

As part of a larger cinematic universe, «Stree 2» also includes post-credit scenes that hint at exciting future collaborations. Fans are eager to see where this franchise will go next, even as some people see the new trend of crossovers as a little overdone.
