N.W. 35th Street On-ramp to U.S. 75 Temporarily Closed for Maintenance
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) has announced plans to temporarily close the N.W. 35th Street on-ramp to southbound U.S. 75. The closure is scheduled to commence on the morning of Friday, November 22. The closure is expected to last for three weeks, subject to weather and other conditions.
KDOT has outlined a marked detour for motorists that will guide them through N.W. Brickyard Road to N.W. 46th Street, eventually leading them back to the southbound U.S. 75 exit. However, drivers have the option to choose their own alternative routes that may not be officially marked.
The department also shared that traffic controls currently in place on the northbound lanes of U.S. 75 will be removed for a winter shutdown period. As a result, all lanes will be operational until the project work recommences in 2025.
Furthermore, traffic controls on the southbound lanes are also slated for removal by the end of December, paving the way for a winter shutdown. KDOT officials have indicated that the construction efforts will pick up once again in 2025.
