Summer Game Fest 2024: What to Expect from This Year’s Showcase
Summer Game Fest, organized by gaming industry icon Geoff Keighley, is set to kick off this week, promising exciting updates and trailers for gaming enthusiasts worldwide. The event, largely focused on already announced games, is expected to offer a glimpse into the future of gaming without delving into distant future releases.
The Summer Game Fest will start on Friday, June 7th, at 5PM ET / 2PM PT, with a two-hour-long presentation that will be live-streamed on various platforms, including Twitch and YouTube. The show will be followed by the indie game showcase, Day of the Devs, and Devolver Digital’s game presentation, offering a packed schedule for gaming fans.
As Geoff Keighley has hinted, this year’s Summer Game Fest might be more about updates to existing games rather than major new game releases. However, confirmed appearances from titles like Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, and others suggest that there will still be plenty of entertainment for viewers.
Some of the publishers and developers expected to showcase their upcoming projects include Capcom, with a reveal of Monster Hunter Wilds, as well as teasers from other big names like Bandai Namco, Blumhouse, and Remedy. Fans are particularly eager to hear about games like Star Wars Outlaws, Alan Wake 2, and the mysterious new project from the creator of Gravity Rush and Silent Hill, known as Slitterhead.
Despite the focus on known titles, the Summer Game Fest 2024 still promises to deliver an evening full of surprises and announcements, keeping the gaming community on the edge of their seats.
