Summerside’s Canada Day Celebrations Move to Spinnakers’ Landing

On July 1st at 2:00 PM, Summerside will kick off its Canada Day celebrations at a new location, Spinnakers’ Landing, due to soggy conditions at Green’s Shore Event Grounds. Despite the venue change, the event will retain its exciting lineup of activities and performances, including headliner Alli Walker.

City officials are confident that this change will not only allow the event to move forward but also provide a picturesque view of Summerside’s waterfront shops, businesses, restaurants, and the overall Port Lands landscape. Residents are encouraged to spread the word and make Summerside their Canada Day destination this year.

The event schedule remains packed with activities ranging from bouncy castles, face painting, carriage tours, and riding stables to a circus play station. Attendees can enjoy autograph signings by Olympian Hannah Taylor, live music by Shane Pendergast and other performers, and free hot dogs courtesy of the City of Summerside.

Additionally, there will be a licensed area with games and activations, a travelling magician entertaining the crowd, and various giveaways to celebrate Canada Day. The evening will culminate with fireworks at 10:00 PM to light up the skies over Summerside.

The entertainment lineup includes a variety of acts starting from the official opening ceremony at 2:00 PM and continuing with performances by Shane Pendergast Duo, Ahern Duo, Nathan Wiley, and others. The day will end on a high note with Alli Walker taking the stage before the fireworks display.
