Teen Hospitalized After Falling from Canada’s Wonderland Ride
A 17-year-old girl is receiving medical treatment after a concerning incident at Canada's Wonderland amusement park in Vaughan on Thursday. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene following reports of the incident at approximately 2:30 p.m.
The young girl reportedly experienced a medical emergency while on the Swing of the Century ride, leading to her falling and sustaining injuries. She was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition, as confirmed by officials.
Canada’s Wonderland representatives disclosed that an unfortunate incident involving a guest falling from the Swing of the Century ride had been reported by staff members. An immediate incident investigation is underway to determine the exact sequence of events.
Authorities from the Technical Safety and Standard Authority (TSSA) were summoned to the scene to inspect the ride. Following their evaluation, the TSSA asserted that the amusement ride was safe for operation and will remain functional for visitors.
The identification of the girl has not been disclosed publicly. York Regional Police assured that they are not treating the incident as criminal in nature, indicating that it was purely a medical emergency that led to the fall.
