Tennessee Titans Secure Preseason Victory Against New Orleans Saints
NEW ORLEANS – The Tennessee Titans concluded their preseason with a commendable performance, defeating the New Orleans Saints 30-27 in their final warm-up game before the regular season.
Quarterback Will Levis led the Titans’ first-team offense, skillfully guiding the team down the field. The Titans started strong, scoring a touchdown on their opening drive and adding field goals for a competitive edge.
This victory capped off a successful preseason run for the Titans, allowing them to finish with a perfect record of 3-0.
Head Coach Brian Callahan expressed pride in the team’s efforts throughout the preseason, acknowledging the importance of these games despite their non-predictive nature on regular season outcomes. Callahan noted the commitment displayed by players, especially those on the back end of the roster.
In this matchup, Levis completed 7 of 8 passes for 118 yards, resulting in an impressive passer rating of 118.8. His performance underscored the effectiveness of the Titans’ offensive strategy.
Defensively, the Titans managed to restrict the Saints’ first-team offense, holding them off the board during the initial series. The backup defense eventually took over, allowing the Saints to score but not enough to overcome the Titans.
Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler showed promise during the game, completing a touchdown pass and demonstrating his potential as a backup for Derek Carr. The Saints, however, could not capitalize on their advantages and suffered their second preseason defeat of the season.
As the Titans prepare for their upcoming season opener against the Chicago Bears on September 8, the focus will shift towards maintaining the momentum gained during the preseason.
