Heavy rain has caused widespread street flooding in Houston and surrounding areas of Montgomery County and Harris County, Texas. The region is under a flood watch as relentless rain continues to pound the Lone Star State. The Trinity River and San Jacinto River are overflowing their banks, leading to multiple evacuations and rescues.

A three-hour radar loop shows ongoing showers and thunderstorms across Texas, with Severe Thunderstorm Warnings and Flash Flood Warnings in effect. Rain gauges in Polk County have recorded significant rainfall totals, with some areas receiving up to 11 inches of rain in recent days.

Multiple Flash Flood Warnings remain in effect as more rain falls across the already saturated areas. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has issued a Level 3 out of 4 risk of excessive rainfall for millions of people across Louisiana and Southeast Texas, exacerbating the flooding situation.

Officials are warning residents to avoid travel in flooded areas and not to attempt to cross flooded roads. Evacuations have been ordered for communities along the Trinity River and San Jacinto River, with high-water rescue trucks deployed to assist residents in danger.

The Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management has issued a warning for residents living along the West Fork of the San Jacinto River south of the Lake Conroe dam. Voluntary and mandatory evacuations are in place as water levels rise.

Highway 59 in Livingston has been rendered impassable due to major flooding, prompting additional evacuations and closures of schools in the area. The relentless rainfall shows no sign of abating, with forecasts predicting further heavy rain and potential flash flooding.
