Tom Selleck, the renowned actor known for his role as Frank Reagan on the CBS drama Blue Bloods, is facing financial concerns as the long-running show approaches its conclusion.

At 79 years old, Selleck, who has portrayed the fictional New York City Police Commissioner on the hit series, is worried about being able to sustain his 63-acre ranch located in Ventura County, California, once Blue Bloods wraps up this winter.

In a recent interview with CBS correspondent Tracy Smith on CBS Sunday Morning, Selleck expressed his apprehensions about the future, stating, «You know, hopefully I keep working enough to hold onto the place.»

Selleck, who acquired the ranch in 1988 after his iconic role in Magnum PI, emphasized the financial impact the end of Blue Bloods could have on his lifestyle, particularly on maintaining the expansive property that was previously owned by entertainer Dean Martin.

Asked by Smith about the possibility of losing the ranch if he halted working, Selleck candidly admitted, «That’s always an issue… Am I set for life? Yeah, but maybe not on a 63-acre ranch!»

Reflecting on his career trajectory, Selleck shared insights into his passion for acting and his desire to continue working in the industry. Despite his success, the seasoned actor highlighted the uncertainty that comes with the profession, mentioning, «As an actor, you never lose that sense that every time I finish a job, it’s my last job.»

While the future remains uncertain for Selleck post-Blue Bloods, he remains hopeful for more opportunities in the entertainment field. Expressing his dedication to his craft, he remarked, «I have a lot of reverence for what I call ‘the work,’ and I love it. And I’d like to keep doing it.»

Additionally, Selleck voiced his disappointment regarding the decision to conclude Blue Bloods, emphasizing the show’s strong viewership and the willingness of the cast to continue. He expressed optimism that CBS may reconsider their choice, asserting, «I will continue to think that CBS will come to their senses.»

Despite the uncertainties ahead, Selleck finds solace and stability in his ranch, which he described as a retreat that keeps him grounded amidst the demands of his profession. His commitment to maintaining a balance between work and family, particularly with his wife Jillie Joan Mack and daughter Hannah, underscores the significance of his personal life alongside his illustrious career.
