Toyota Canada Announces $100,000 Partnership with Trans Canada Trail on Earth Day
Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) has unveiled a new national collaboration with Trans Canada Trail (the Trail) on Earth Day, solidifying a $100,000 investment in the preservation and expansion of Canada’s extensive trail network.
Announced in Toronto, the partnership signifies Toyota’s commitment to environmental sustainability and active transportation, enhancing connections between urban and rural communities from coast-to-coast-to-coast through varied terrains.
Stephen Beatty, Vice President, Corporate, Toyota Canada Inc., expressed Toyota’s pledge to operate harmoniously with nature and support Trans Canada Trail’s mission in promoting outdoor engagement while reducing carbon footprints.
Meghan Reddick, Interim CEO of Trans Canada Trail, commended Toyota Canada’s substantial contribution, emphasizing the importance of maintaining and enhancing Canada’s natural surroundings through such partnerships.
As part of their collaboration, Toyota’s funding will specifically aid ecological restoration, climate emergency initiatives, and innovative research to fortify the Trail’s resilience and sustainability, spanning over 28,000 kilometers and linking the Atlantic, Pacific, and Arctic oceans.
The Trans Canada Trail, managed in conjunction with local trail partners, has a mission to connect 15,000 communities across Canada and promote unity, collaboration, and connectedness through its diverse landscapes and experiences.
