Tragedy Strikes as 24 Lose Lives in Rajkot Gaming Zone Fire
Tragedy struck in Gujarat‘s Rajkot as a massive fire engulfed the TRP Game Zone, claiming the lives of at least 24 individuals, including children. The incident, which occurred on Saturday afternoon, sent shockwaves through the community.
Rajkot Police Commissioner Raju Bhargava identified the owner of the gaming facility as Yuvraj Singh Solanki. Both Solanki and the manager were detained for interrogation as authorities launched investigations into the devastating incident.
As rescue operations unfolded, authorities revealed that around 20 bodies had been recovered from the site, with efforts ongoing to locate any remaining victims. The cause of the fire, which led to the tragic event, is yet to be determined.
Expressing deep distress over the incident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his condolences to the affected families and pledged support from the local administration to assist those impacted by the tragedy.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel ordered an immediate investigation by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to uncover the circumstances surrounding the fire in the gaming zone. He announced financial aid for the families of the deceased and the injured.
In a poignant statement, CM Patel emphasized the need to prevent such incidents in the future and assured that negligence would not be tolerated in this case.
In a separate but equally tragic event, 11 individuals lost their lives in a fire following a boiler explosion in Maharashtra‘s Dombivli just a few days prior to the Rajkot incident. The string of unfortunate incidents has highlighted the importance of fire safety and prevention measures across public spaces.
