Tragedy Strikes as SUV in Convoy of Brij Bhushan Singh’s Son Collides with Bike in Uttar Pradesh

In a tragic incident in Uttar Pradesh‘s Gonda district, two individuals lost their lives when a Toyota Fortuner SUV, part of the convoy associated with Karan Bhushan Singh, a candidate from the Bharatiya Janata Party contesting from the Kaiserganj Lok Sabha constituency and the son of veteran politician Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, collided with a motorcycle.

The SUV bore the label ‘police escort’ on the rear windshield, indicating its presence in a VIP convoy. The vehicle, registered under license plate number ‘UP32HW1800’, is reportedly linked to the Nandini Nagar Educational Institute, affiliated with Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh’s family as per the NDTV report.

According to the First Information Report (FIR) filed by Chanda Begum, her teenage son named Rehan and her 24-year-old nephew Shahzad were fatally struck by the SUV while they were riding a motorcycle for a medicine purchase around 9 AM. Both victims succumbed to their injuries at the scene, leaving a somber atmosphere.

Sadly, a 60-year-old woman named Sita Devi suffered injuries in the collision and has been receiving medical treatment at a nearby facility. Following the accident, a large crowd gathered at the site, with the victims’ families seeking justice and answers for the unfortunate loss.

Local reports suggest that the occupants of the SUV abandoned the damaged vehicle and fled in another car after the collision. The police have taken the SUV driver into custody and seized the vehicle for further investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the tragedy. While there is no official confirmation about Karan Bhushan Singh’s presence in the convoy during the incident, authorities are looking into the matter seriously.

Senior police official Radheysham Rai confirmed that the deceased individuals have undergone post-mortem examinations, with ongoing inquiries into the incident to establish accountability and provide closure to the affected families.
