Tragic Death of Alabama High School Football Player
An unfortunate incident occurred during a high school football game in Alabama, resulting in the tragic death of a 16-year-old player.
Caden Tellier, a junior quarterback at Morgan Academy, sustained severe injuries after being tackled in the third quarter of a game against Southern Academy in Selma.
Following the tackle, Tellier was transported by air to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital, where he was treated for a critical brain injury.
The headmaster of Morgan Academy, Bryan Oliver, confirmed the news of Tellier’s passing. The family released a heartfelt statement on social media, expressing their gratitude for the prayers and support they received during this difficult time.
In their statement, the family highlighted Caden’s kindness, generosity, and love, noting that he continued to give even in death, as he was an organ donor.
Oliver shared his deep sorrow on the school’s official Facebook page, describing Caden as a “shining light” in the Morgan Academy community. He emphasized that there are no words to adequately express the pain felt by the school and its students.
As a result of this tragic event, all sports activities at Morgan Academy have been canceled for the upcoming week, including the scheduled football game at Wilcox Academy.
