The Sarkin Gobir of Gatawa District in Sokoto State, Alhaji Isa Muhammad Bawa, has been brutally killed by bandits after being abducted and tortured.

Reports indicate that the bandits released a video in which the traditional leader pleaded for his life and appealed to the government for assistance.

Idris4Peace shared this tragic news on social media, highlighting the harrowing conditions faced by the Sarkin Gobir during captivity.

In July, Bawa and his son were kidnapped while traveling from Sokoto to Sabon Birni, the headquarters of Sabon Birni local government in Sokoto State.

According to Gobir, one of his sons, the attackers fired at the vehicle, causing the driver to lose control and subsequently stop the car, leading to their abduction.

The kidnappers initially demanded a ransom of N1 billion for the release of the victims.

In the disturbing video, Bawa spoke in the Hausa language about their ordeal, expressing that their lives were in danger and they had been suffering under the captivity of their abductors.

He urged the government to intervene urgently and provide the necessary assistance.

The video also featured a bandit who dictated what to say to the victims, showcasing the dire situation they were in.
