A popular travel influencer, Aanvi Kamdar, aged 27, met a tragic end at the renowned Kumbhe Waterfall in Maharashtra‘s Raigad district. Known as @theglocaljournal on Instagram, Kamdar, a chartered accountant, captured her journeys to a vast audience.
Accompanied by seven friends, Kamdar ventured to the picturesque Kumbhe Waterfall for a day out. While filming an Instagram Reel at the site, she accidentally slipped and plunged into a 300-foot gorge, as per a statement from a Mangaon police station official.
Immediately informed by her companions, local authorities swiftly initiated a rescue mission. Collaborating with the Coast Guard, Kolad rescue team, and the Maharashtra State Electricity Board staff, they engaged in a challenging operation to retrieve Kamdar from the deep crevice.
The daunting rescue operation was further complicated by falling rocks in the gorge, making the task arduous. After a grueling six-hour endeavor, the rescue team managed to extract Kamdar from the gorge but unfortunately, she could not survive her severe injuries.
Subsequently, Kamdar was rushed to the Mangaon taluka government hospital where she ultimately passed away during medical intervention.
