The mystery surrounding the disappearance of 19-year-old Jay Slater has taken a tragic turn. Jay went missing while enjoying a holiday with friends in Tenerife, and his body was discovered on July 15 in a remote area of Rural de Teno park, not far from where he was last seen.

After a month-long search, officials managed to locate his remains in a difficult-to-reach ravine. While they are still determining the exact cause of Jay’s death due to the condition of his body, preliminary autopsy results suggest he may have died from ‘a fall or plunge from height’.

Jay’s family, who live in Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, are heartbroken and are now focused on bringing his remains back home for a proper farewell. They were advised against viewing Jay at the morgue, which has been a tough decision for them to cope with.

According to a spokesperson from the Civil Guard, the initial findings indicate that Jay suffered serious injuries, including multiple broken bones, likely from a fall. The search and rescue teams faced several challenges, including steep and overgrown areas, to retrieve his body.

The search for answers continues as the family waits for the official conclusion of the investigation. They might have to endure a long delay before a UK inquest can be held, as authorities in Spain need to finish their work first.

One of Jay’s friends, Ayub Qassim, spoke out about the night before Jay disappeared. He mentioned that they stayed in a rural Airbnb and acknowledged that there were some troubling rumors about Jay’s state of mind during their trip. Ayub maintained that it was difficult to understand what Jay was going through.
