Tragic Incident at Burwood Apartment Complex

A heartbreaking situation unfolded at an apartment complex in Burwood, where authorities found a man and a woman dead under suspicious circumstances.

The man was discovered in the garden bed with severe injuries to his ankles, while the woman was found in an apartment nearby with multiple stab wounds. It’s still unclear what led to this tragic event.

Police were called to the scene early on Monday morning, around 8:45 AM, after getting reports for a welfare check. Upon arriving, they found the man’s body first and later tracked down the woman’s body after reviewing CCTV footage.

Superintendent Christine McDonald mentioned that investigations may involve looking into potential domestic violence or even the possibility of a murder-suicide. However, they are keeping all options open as they try to piece together what happened.

Both victims were described as being of Asian appearance and were likely in their 20s or 30s. Police are working hard to identify them officially and have set up crime scenes at both the courtyard and the unit.
