Three beloved members of the popular gospel music group, The Nelons, tragically passed away in a plane crash in Wyoming on Friday. The sad news confirms that Kelly Nelon Clark, her husband Jason Clark, and their daughter Amber Nelon Kistler were among those who lost their lives.

Along with the family, Amber’s husband, Nathan Kistler, a family friend named Melodi Hodges, and the pilot Larry Haynie and his wife Melissa Haynie were also killed in the accident. The Nelons were on their way to participate in a seven-day music cruise to Alaska when the tragedy struck.

Autumn Nelon Streetman, who is the sister of Amber and another member of The Nelons, shared heartfelt thanks for the prayers and support as she navigates this painful time. She expressed gratitude for the love extended to her family and the families of those affected.

The crash occurred around 1 p.m. local time, north of Gillette, Wyoming. The National Transportation Safety Board has begun investigating the cause of the crash, and initial reports are expected in about 30 days.

The Nelons group is known for their deep roots in gospel music, having been inducted into the Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame in 2016 and winning numerous Dove Awards. They have touched many lives with their music since the 1980s.

In a statement, Georgia’s Governor Brian Kemp extended his condolences and requested prayers for the families affected by the tragic event, highlighting the impact on the gospel music community.

As details continue to unfold, the gospel music world mourns the loss of these talented individuals who meant so much to so many.
